the full-flake epoxy/Polyaspartic installation process

Preparation

First, we use our heavy-duty industrial concrete grinder with a powerful dust-control vacuum to remove the top layer and expose fresh, clean concrete.  This will allow the epoxy  to penetrate into the pores and lock into place for decades. This is just the first difference between our professional system and the DIY kit that you buy at the big-box store and apply yourself.

Base Coating

Then we lay down a layer of  epoxy that bonds with the freshly prepared concrete with such strength that the bond is unbreakable! We then use our 18" paint rollers and cover the entire surface in three different directions to ensure that every pore has epoxy in it.

Full-Flake Broadcast

Next comes the Beauty Element - The Flakes.  The store bought kits contain a few ounces of flakes. On a standard 2-car garage we use 50+ pounds of flakes. Every inch is heavily covered in flakes. It brings a beauty to your floor that will rival any other area in your home!

Top Coat

Finally we put a top coat of Polyaspartic, a two-component floor coating that bonds with the epoxy base coat that provides excellent adhesion, durability, UV resistance, and chemical and stain resistance for superior protection. In addition, it has an elastic quality that prevents it from cracking if a sharp object, like the point of a screwdriver, is dropped on it. This is the state-of-the-art process that is used by 95% of the epoxy floor coating companies in the world. Polyurea is used in the northern United States. Epoxy is the correct formulation to use in Florida.
